The company began in Pittsburgh, PA in 2008 with a simple showing of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves as envisioned by artistic director and performer Kristin Ward.  The audience applauded the concept of integrating dance and storytelling in a fresh way.  Since then, over a dozen tales and several talented performers have been added to the company’s repertoire, and Moquette Volante has performed in many venues across Southwestern Pennsylvania and New York State, including Allegheny County Libraries, the Ontario County Arts Council, and Pittsburgh’s International Children’s Theatre Festival.
